Below are some words I would like to pass onto you relating to this article, my views, policies and past experiencese regarding warranties at Goodtime since 1971.

I've been blown away by many angry things but i'm still here..

‘There is no doubt the commercial press is powerful and so too are their employees.’

NO contact was made with me or Global Surf Industries to check the facts to verify Rory Gibson’s story. They have a big whip and their journo’s are obviously beyond reproach. Fortunately in today’s world we do have a right of reply and response through the internet and we start here on my website.

Goodtime has a clear policy on warranty due to the fact that we are participants in sports that are extreme, the products we use are constantly being driven by nature’s will and none of us have complete control of what happens in nature’s wonderland.

We honour the warranty policy of our suppliers.

We assess products that are outside warranty and do not use 'out of warranty' as an excuse.

We pay costs involved with the return of product to a manufacturer and the costs of getting it back to the customer.

We honour statutory warranty.

We aim to deal with suppliers who have a sound business who can back their product and service it and work in partnership with those suppliers.

My personal experience on warranty claims is that most are genuine, some are not, and then there are those who do not accept or understand the limits and boundaries of the product and its usage.

Goodtime is about education and choice in the sports we represent. We have a proud history and Rory Gibson’s personal attack on me and on my business gives me the opportunity to publish just who we are and what we represent. Using a surfboard just twice in eight months and seeing so much damage implies he is bloody unlucky. He has been given a fair hearing now it is my turn to see that I get a fair hearing.

There is no doubt that you cannot please everyone but we sure as hell can try, as we have been for the last 39 years.
