Ocean Raider Sea Kayak

The very essence of kayaking seems reflected in the fine lines and beauty of the Ocean Raider. This excellent expedition kayak has been designed with higher volume than the rest of the Raider series sea kayaks. This increased capacity in the deck affords a very dry ride, and the taller/larger paddler will appreciate the extra foot/leg room available.

Standard Features

The Ocean Raider has a large oval rubber hatch on the fore and aft decks and a round rubber day hatch behind the seat, which is within arms reach of the paddler when sitting in the cockpit.

Standard safety features such as recessed deck fittings, carry toggle handles, podded seat, double fibreglass seam joining, perimeter lines, and a fully anodised foiled rudder for minimum drag make the Ocean Raider excellent value for money.

Construction

Raider kayaks are built from the lightest and strongest fibreglass, kevlar or carbon laminates available on the market. A high quality gel coat covers the exterior of the kayak to protect the laminate from abrasion and ultraviolet rays. The high proportion of cloth to resin ratio of approximately 70% fibre to 30% resin yields a stronger kayak due to the fibre content. The high quality smooth interior finish on the kayak hull and deck eliminates nasty fibreglass itch and possible abrasion on personal gear inside the boat.
