Stephen Tapp Fish Stringer

Tue, 14/10/2008 - 10:39 — admin
Stephen Tapp Fish Stringer
08stappfishstringer

Serves two purposes. The primary purpose is to secure your catch to the kayak; the secondary purpose is to provide a convenient way of sliding your catch into the rear well.

Comes with stainless steel clip for either end. The style of clip allows the stringer wire to be detached and reattached one handed. The other hand will be holding the fish or the Gaff (holding the fish). The wire is a 316 stainless steel to minimize corrosion; the stringer cord is crimped in place for maximum strength and to allow it to pass through the fish with minimal resistance. The cord is long enough to accommodate a reasonable number of fish. In use the stringer is threaded up through the gills and out through the mouth and re-clipped to the deck. With the other end clipped in the well this secures the catch to the kayak. To get the fish into the well it is simply a process of placing your catch back in the water, sliding it along the cord, and then porpoising back over the side into the well.
