The anchor is made specifically for kayaking, with long easy to bend prongs (in contrast to ordinary grapnel anchors with prongs too stiff to straighten). The design takes into account the relatively light pressure a kayaker can exert to recover the anchor from the bottom. This minimizes anchor loss in kelpy or rocky conditions.
4 metres of 5mm galvanized chain is used to ensure the anchor will hold even when deployed on sand.
The floating rope is used to make anchor recovery easier. Simply haul the anchor straight to the surface and lay the rope on the water on the other side of the kayak. Once the chain and anchor are on board it is a simple process to wind the floating rope off the water onto the anchor board.
The floating rope is attached to the anchor board with an open loop and this loop is used as the attachment point for the running rig.
Designed to stow easily behind the seat or in the pocket of the insulated well cover.
