I started surfing at the age of 13 unlucky for some but not for me as this is where life really started not cause of my age but more cause of what I was doing.(learning to surf)I bought my first board a nicely looked after single fin from a school mate later realising the board had no plug for a leg rope i was not shore what to do however i had walked past this surf shop in the Gabba many times on my way home from roller skating the Five Ways rink only a block down, Goodtime Surf the place was called I took my board in and not a problem a week later I had my board back with a new leg rope to go with it, now I am not here to talk about my surfing life but more to the point Goodtime Surf, as a young Brisbane surfer I would have been lost without the place and over the years I have watched the place evolve and grow I am now 48 still surfing and for the past 5 years kayaking I have just moved up from a sit on to a sit in kayak and once more Good time Surf was there to help I was given a great trade in on all my old kayak and all the equipment that went with it towards new roof racks, mounting racks, trolley and paddle I have done numerous trades like this over the years at the store being one of the reasons I always go back, the staff at Goodtime are mainly young people who are very enthusiastic towards their work and have so much time for providing the customer with the right product as well as Gail to add years and years of personal and professional experience to the store not to mention she is the owner so I urge you all do not overlook this store if your son or daughter have a interest in any kind of surf, sailing or skateboarding activities as you will get all the right advice and equipment here in the one store and like me it could be the start of something great for them that will be rewarding for all.
